On Definable Features of Work: I critique the traditional understanding of Definable Features of Work (DFOW), highlighting inconsistent definitions across the industry and fundamental problems with the standard approach. I propose that the DFOW should expand beyond specifications to include Client Intent, Critical Activities, and Lessons Learned and that the DFOW list starts at project inception rather than construction mobilization and be utilized throughout the entire project.
