Books

A World Without Email (Not industry specific, but helped establish processes that allow us to work more effectively without being stuck in our inboxes.)
Out of the Crisis (Dated and not industry specific, but Deming was one of the “fathers of quality” and his Plan Do Check Act (PDCA) cycle is now integral to ISO-9001 and globally recognized. Great ideas for looking at process and business differently with a focus on the customer. Relates to manufacturing but can apply to construction, which you can read how I’ve been applying it here.)
The Challenger Sale (I read this when I was in more of a business development role at CBRE. Now I apply it to help spread ideas internally and create buy-in.)
Blue Ocean Strategy (Just a neat way of looking at business strategy differently and how to identify new ways to innovate and look for unmet needs.)
Seth’s Blog
Decoding the Knock Knock Situation (Your idea has to be good enough that it sells itself via others talking about it - not through hustling or self-promotion.)
Bad Design Might Simply Be Obsolete Design (How we do things now may just be obsolete, not that the process itself is bad.)
Two Kinds of Instructions (A great guide for thinking about how we should instruct others on how to execute a business task.)
